August Film: Top Gun

September Film: Hidden Figures

• Hidden Figures tells the inspiring true story of three brilliant African American women—Hidden Figures, featuring Katherine Johnson, Dorothy Vaughan, and Mary Jackson—who worked at NASA during the 1960s Space Race. Despite facing racial segregation and gender discrimination, they used their exceptional mathematical and engineering skills to help launch astronaut John Glenn into orbit. Their determination, intelligence, and courage challenged unfair barriers, earned long-overdue recognition, and contributed significantly to America’s success in space exploration. The film celebrates perseverance, teamwork, equality, and the importance of recognizing overlooked contributions to history.
