The club is pleased to announce that the 2024 treasure hunt will be on Sunday, 1st September, the destination is High Clandon Vineyard –”The Quintessence of English Quality Sparkling Wine” – www.highclandon.co.uk, just to the north of Guildford. As ever, you will be guided along the way from the club by a wonderfully wiggly route, exploring once more the delights of the English countryside, from Surrey to Sussex to Hampshire, about 75 miles or so.
Along the route questions are asked, a way of finding out interesting things about our wonderful English countryside and possibly leading to some prizes.
Timings – 09.30am meet at The County Club for coffee and pastries, parking in the High Street
10.15 cars flagged away for the tour and treasure hunt
After a coffee stop on the way, we aim to meet up at 1.00pm or so at High Clandon for soft drink reviver. There will then be a tour of the vineyard and all that it does, with a tasting of the award-winning wines. After that we will enjoy our picnics in the grounds. Our hosts Bruce and Sibylla Tindale will be pleased to sell you a bottle or two of their award-winning fizz to add to your feast with suitably interesting comestibles. Liquid refreshment aside, there is no café or similar at the vineyard.
